Oh, and the ad said that after June 26, the price goes up to $25.00 because Tom turns 50! What's that got to do with it? A little extra $10. If I have to "eat" the $15.00, then so be it. I am curious to see if he is going to make this right or not. I e-mailed him, voicing my dissatisfaction with his product and asked for my money back, even though his ad says, No Refunds. For a bodybuilder of his reputation, this product is very much beneath him. The whole thing just looks like a copy of an article on leg training he did a long time ago for Flex or Muscle and Fitness. Maybe he considers the xeroxed cover copies to be the photo. The mailing envelope said, Photos Inside. If so, then the price goes down a little to $2.50 a sheet. That comes to $3.00 a sheet! You do get a cover sheet with 2 of his pictures on it which is the xerox copy of the real manual's cover, so maybe he counts that as 6 sheets. You get about 5 sheets of xeroxed copy paper for $15.00. The pages are numbered in by hand with an ink pen or pencil in the upper left hand corner. Fine, but the quality of the pictures is so poor (black), that you can hardly tell what its supposed to be. He says on his website that what you are getting is a xeroxed copy.
If any of you are thinking of ordering this manual from his website, save yourself $15.00 and DON'T.
He was a Professor and the Director of Bodybuilding Sciences at ISSA for 14 years. Tom Platz was and is one of the most sought-after guest speakers in the world of bodybuilding, nutrition and general fitness. His character portrayed the Charles Atlas-like character from those "tired of bullies kicking sand in your face and stealing your girlfriend"-type of advertisements that were in a lot of comic books for decades. Tom says, "I just want to give back to the sport I love which has been really great to me." He played the part of "Body Builder" in the 1990 film Book of Love. He still promotes the sport wholeheartedly.
Tom Platz retired from professional bodybuilding competition in 1987 and did a 'Comeback' in 1995 when he was awarded Honorary Mr. Flex readers agree: In a "best bodyparts of the 20th century" poll, Platz was deemed to have the best quads and hamstrings of all time. But from what I see here and and abroad at gyms I feel like ppl would look down or even step back when someone tries to train and follow in the same ideology of Tom Platz saying it's 'overtraining' or too.
Regardless of what was found lacking elsewhere, it is still widely claimed in bodybuilding circles that Platz holds the mark for the best legs in bodybuilding of his time and some of the best legs in bodybuilding ever. I see his interviews and training videos and I honestly think he is one of the smartest and most charismatic BB we ever had on this planet. He developed a high intensity, high volume method of leg training, which led to his unparalleled size and definition for his time. Platz became famous for his remarkable leg development. Though Platz never took first at the Olympia competition, he had a string of top ten finishes, with a third position in 1981 being his best. For the following nine years Platz competed as a professional, aiming for Mr. He arrived there with $50 and a dream to win Mr. In 1978 and after completing his degree at Wayne State University, he moved to California. He competed as an amateur until he won the 1978 World Amateur Championships middleweight division. Tom Platz began his competitive bodybuilding career in the 1973 Mr.
